The One Hundred Ounce Haul
It's not everyday that you get the opportunity to buy over 100 ounces of silver, tons of wheat pennies, and much more!
If you are reading this after a bust of a day at garage sales or after a Craigslist deal that fell through, keep reading. Everyone in this business--and I mean everyone--swings and misses from time to time. Actually, everyone in this business swings and misses a lot. The reason I want you to read this post and watch this video is to show you that in spite of many failures, there are still a lot of successes to be had out there. This haul came as a direct result of perseverance and hard work.
“Did I give up? No. Did I make excuses? No. Instead, I doubled my efforts. I started going around town handing out business cards, posting ads on craigslist and hitting the garage sales earlier. As you can see, it paid off.”
I had been in a little bit of a dry spell. I had gone to dozens of garage sales, estate sales, thrift shops, and pawn shops. I scoured the internet for deals. Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, anywhere I could potentially find a deal. But no luck. Did I give up? No. Did I make excuses? No. Instead, I doubled my efforts. I started going around town handing out business cards, posting ads on craigslist and hitting the garage sales earlier. As you can see, it paid off.
I was given an opportunity to buy the coin collection of a young man's grandfather who had been a coin collector for decades. When he inherited the coins, he didn't know what to do with them. He was worried that he'd get ripped off if he brought them to a pawn shop, so he just kept them in his garage for years. During my double-effort push to find more coins, he heard that I was ready to buy coins and that I would offer a good deal. We met up, I bought his coins, and the rest is history. Had I given up, I would have never had the opportunity to bask in the glory of a 100 ounce haul.
