How to Make Money on Old "Worthless" Foreign Banknotes

Since 2011 I have occupied a unique space in the numismatic world that stands at the crossroads of coin collector, coin dealer, and precious metal investor. To me, it's the ideal formula. I buy coin collections, keep what I like for my own collection (coin collector), and sell the rest for a profit (coin dealer). Sometimes I even hold onto items that I think will go up in value to sell them later (investor).

This set up has worked really well for me. It has given me a small but beautifully curated coin collection from which I get endless enjoyment, a profitable business that has grown every year, and even a successful YouTube channel that has helped thousands of people on their numismatic and precious metal journeys.

So what's the problem?

Well, as with any business and hobby, there are lots of problems that arise, both big and small. While not the biggest problem I've ever had, one of the most annoying issues I deal with as someone who buys lots of coin collections is what to do with all of the modern foreign coins and banknotes I get. You know, that stack of pre-Euro currency your Uncle Gordon brought you back from all his business trips in the 90s?

It's frustrating because you know that a lot of these discontinued and obsolete coins and currency are worth money and could be exchanged for spendable cash...but you need to go to each country's central bank to do so. Not exactly feasible for 30 or 40 bucks.

I have spent countless hours searching for a solution. In the past I've sold them on eBay or Craigslist and even at coin shows, but always for much less than their true value. Well, I finally found one!

I had just bought a few collections that had small stacks of foreign bills, so I did some Googling to see if I could find a better means to sell them. And I did! I found an amazing website called Leftovercurrency.com.

Leftovercurrency.com is an amazing site that enables you to easily sell your obsolete withdrawn, discontinued, and collectible coins and currency. Moreover, the rates they pay are excellent as well. I'm super impressed.

Whether you have a stack of cash from trips you went on or from collection purchases, you can easily exchange them for spendable cash at Leftovercurrency.com. And the best part is--they accept currency from 97 countries!

If you want to learn more about their services, check out their website and check out my video below where I show you step by step how much money I made by selling banknotes that in the past would have been deemed "worthless."
