How to Change High End Watch Batteries
When you buy a quartz watch at a garage sale or estate sale, you can increase your profits by replacing dead batteries yourself
Buying watches can make you a ton of money. The secondary market for watches is booming right now and there's no reason you shouldn't get in on the action. While I cannot say that I've had much experience buying super high end watches like Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet, I have had great luck with accessible luxury brands like Tag Heuer, Movado, and even higher end brands like Rolex. Believe it or not, you can actually find $1,000+ watches at garage sales for as low as $5. Seriously, I have bought a Movado Museum wristwatch at a garage sale for just $5.
While automatic watches do not have any battery at all, quartz watches do. If you go to a jewelry shop to get the battery replaced, you'd be lucky if you can get the job done for under $20. For high end watches, it can be as expensive as $60 or more. Don't waste your time or money. It's too easy to do yourself. All you need to do is buy a cheap set of watch tools and some watch batteries and your set. Check out the above video for a step by step tutorial!
